Hallelujah

So Kanye dropped his new “JESUS IS KING” album and the response has been expectedly controversial. The rap world screams “we want the old Kanye!” while much of the Christian church just laughs it off as a joke.
Kanye even recognizes this in his music... “What have you been hearin’ from Christians? They’ll be the first one to judge me.”
Regardless of whether or not YOU believe that Kanye has experienced the true transformation of Jesus Christ, we as a Christian community should be the first people to celebrate this. Isn’t this what we pray for? Don’t we want people with influence in the world to find Jesus so that they can use their platform for Him? How many non-believers do you think Kanye reached with this album? Instead of praising God for this transformation, we question the authenticity... as if we have a right... as if Kanye’s sins are somehow greater than ours.
“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”
Luke 15:7

So despite how you feel... despite the fact that Kanye will fail and stumble (like all of us)...I know heaven is celebrating because another lost soul has experienced true freedom for the first time.
Hallelujah.
